Raised in an Air Force family, I grew up in such diverse places as Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Gander, Newfoundland before leaving home and settling down near Ottawa, Ontario, then taking a transfer to southern Ontario, near Toronto. (Yes, I'm Canadian.)
When I was young and foolish, I decided to forgo an English degree and enter journalism. After two decades in newspapers and a career swerve into the technical side, I can honestly say there's still no thrill quite like getting the paper to press on a heavy news day with an early deadline.
I have two daughters and two sons, way too many pets and too little time. Things are, to say the least, hopping in the James household.
I'm a great believer in happy endings, as I hope anyone who reads my work will attest. After all, what's the point of writing fiction if you can't put a little joy in people's lives?
